Identifying Cap Badges by Graham Bandy – Pen & Sword £25

So much of my research is done electronically, trawling through websites and archives searching for that little bit of information that will complete the puzzle. Sometimes you get sent off down the wrong rabbit hole and can spend ages following a red herring. So I was delighted to find this comprehensive guide to military cap badges. In this book the badges are ordered by what is on the badge itself – dragon, sphinx, castle, horse, tiger etc. plus there is a short history of each regiment.

If you have photographs of an ancestor in uniform showing his cap badge I am sure that this will help you identify the regiment.
