CATO was a British Steam
Cargo Vessel built in 1914 and was on route from Dublin for Bristol with 400
tons of general cargo when she hit a mine and sank. 13 crew lost from a total
crew 15. It is said that she was carrying a cargo of stout in barrels and
that locals along the coast enjoyed many communal drinking sessions and the
ship was nicknamed 'the Guinness Wreck' |

passage Tenby to Bristol when lost near Nash Sands in a storm. The anchor
chain was found suggesting that she had tried to anchor. There were no
survivors. |

in 1874 by Blackwood & Gordon and owned at the time of her loss by Anchor
Line Ltd., on voyage from Newport, Monmouth Shire to Marseille with a cargo
of 622 tons of coal, sprang a leak. |

Co,Andrew. Inver Tankers Ltd. On the 16th Januray 1940 when on route from
Trinidad and Halifax for Avonmouth with a cargo of 12554 tons of aviation
spirit she hit a mine laid by U-33 and sank. All 44 crew were lost. |
