David Henry Kaufman, the only other passenger who was on board Flight HX482, on 19th of August 1942. David served with the United States Army Air Forces, was part of the Electronics Training Group. David’s body wasn’t recovered, but his name is commemorated on the Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial.
David was born in 1914, Little Rock, Pulaski, Arkansas. He was the son of David Harold Kaufman and Lula
May Peterson.
The 1920 American census records that 5-year-old David is
living with his uncle and aunt at West Street, Arkansas.

A decade later, at the time of the 1930 census, David, now
15 years old, is still residing with his uncle and aunt at Reader, Ouachita,

David, aged 15, is employed as a Mail Messenger with the US
Mail.
At the time of the 1940 census, David was a lodger residing on
North Adams Street, San Antonio, Texas the home of Julian C Gibson.
