David Arnold

Very little information has so far been discovered about the early life of David Arnold, and details of his family, birthplace and life before the First World War remain uncertain.

During the war, David served as a Corporal with the 14th Battalion, Welsh Regiment, commonly known as the Swansea Battalion.

David was wounded while on active service and subsequently died from his wounds on 13 September 1916.

His death occurred during the period of the Battle of the Somme, although the circumstances in which he received his wounds have yet to be established.

Corporal David Arnold is buried at Essex Farm Cemetery, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.

Although much of David Arnold's personal story remains unknown, his service with the 14th Battalion and his final resting place ensure that his sacrifice has not been forgotten.
