Alexander was the youngest son of Alexander Carr and Ruth
Biby, was born in 1880.
The 1881 Census, records that the Carr family were living at
7 Frog Street.

Alexander, who is recorded as Allick, is aged 34, is
employed as a Labourer, while Ruth is aged 38.
Their children are
Ann, aged 14; Mary, aged 12; Caroline, aged 8; George, aged
7; Eliza, aged 5; Maggie, aged 3, and Alexander, who like his father is
recorded as Allick, is aged 1.
Alexander at the time of the 1891 Census, has moved and he
lived with his relatives at 11 Cambrian Street, Llanfrechfa, Monmouthshire.

Joseph Minton, aged 32 is recorded as employed as Steel
Smelter, while Marian, is aged 33. Their
nephew is Alexander, who is aged 11.
Also present at the property are visitors Alfred Mitchel,
aged 37 and Jane Mitchel, aged 35.
In 1899 Alexander enlisted and joined up with the Welsh
Regiment.

William Carr, aged 58, is employed as Steel Completer, while
Martha is aged 56. Alexander who is aged
20 is employed as a Steel Labourer.
The following year, 1902, Alexander married Sarah Ann Bell
at Christ church, Blaina, Monmouthshire.

Alexander, who is aged 31, is employed as a Coal Trimmer of
the Docks, while Sarah Ann, is aged 30. Their
children are
Alexander George, aged 7; Ruth, aged 6; Doris May, aged 4;
and Ivy Gertrude, aged 5 months.
Alexander came back to Swansea, where he enlisted and joined
the Welsh Regiment, 14th Battalion.
Alexander was killed on the 10th of July, 1916.
