Loss of S.S. Wileysike

S.S. Wileysike was a 2,501-gross-register-ton defensively armed British merchant ship, owned by W. S. Miller & Co. of Glasgow. On 9 May 1918, while on passage from the River Clyde to France, she was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-54, approximately eight miles south-west of St Ann’s Head, Wales. Four members of the crew were lost in the attack.
