E. Davies was born in 1880 and served with the
Royal Navy, holding the rank of Shipwright 3rd Class aboard H.M.S.
Revenge. As a shipwright, his duties involved the maintenance and
repair of the ship’s structure and fittings, work that was essential to keeping
major warships operational.

H.M.S. Revenge was a Royal Navy battleship,
serving as part of Britain’s fleet in the immediate post–First World War
period. Following the Armistice, naval personnel such as shipwrights remained
in service to support fleet maintenance and repairs during the process of
post-war demobilisation and naval reorganisation.
Death and Burial
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission records that E.
Davies died on 15th November 1919. He is buried at Caister
Old Cemetery, Caister, Norfolk.
