Is it a mystery!

Everyone likes a mystery or two.

Last week, I went down to the war memorial situated at Mumbles Road, Swansea, to take a photo of the Swansea men who served with the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, as part of a forth coming article.

Early this morning, in readiness for the article I wanted to carry out research on who these men were, using the Commonwealth War Grave Commission website, to gain further information.

The first name, Bone, Thomas D.  Right there has to be some information on him.  Nothing! Nothing at all.  Let’s try different search variety.

Still nothing.  So, who is Thomas D. Bone?  This is the mystery.

A few hours have passed, and I hope that I have solved the mystery Thomas D Bone.

A final check on those Swansea men who lost their lives during the First World War.  Moving down to the men who served with the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry.  The first name in that list – Thomas D. Bourne.

It seems that Thomas D. Bone, is certainly Thomas D. Bourne.

What information is there about Thomas D. Bourne

Lance Corporal Thomas Daniel Borune, served with the 7th Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry.  He was killed in action, 6th October 1915 and has no know grave and he is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.

This is where the mystery become more of a mystery.   It seems that Thomas D. Bourne, was certainly a Bone in the first place.
