Bombardier Henry Harris
Buried at Bethel Welsh Congregational Chapelyard is Bombardier Henry Harris, who died 22nd November 1918.
Henry who served with the Royal Field Artillery, “A” Battery, 348th Brigade. Having served on the Western Front for 11 months prior his death. Henry had been gassed during the November 1917. Having been wounded he was receiving treatment at the Military Hospital, Grimsby. Henry died there from the results of influenza.
At the time of the 1911 census, Henry was residing with his
parents, Thomas and Catherine Harris at Ty Gwyn, Cockett. 17-year-old
Henry was a boot maker in Sketty.

Two year later, 1913, Henry married Ada May Longhurst. They went on to have two children, Leslie, born 1913 and Ronald born 1916
