Ronald Noel Kingdon

 There were no military burials in 1943 at Bethel, however, there were two in 1944.

Fusilier Ronald Noel Kingdon, who served with the Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment), 12th Battalion, died on 18th April 1944, aged 23 years.

Ronald was the son of Percival John and Jeannie Elizabeth Kingdon nee Irvine, of Lonlas, Skewen.

In the 1911 Census, Percival was recorded as residing at his parent’s home, 25 Park Place, Brynmill.

Noel Kingdon, 41, is a Tailor.  While his wife, Eva, 45 runs the house. Their two children, Percy (Percival), 13, and Doris, 6 attend school.  Also present at the property on the census night is lodge Ernest William Perry, 23, who is a Tramway Conductor.

Jeannie was born in 1890 at Carlisle.

1921 Census

1921 Census, the couple is residing at 25 Park Place, Brynmill.  Percival, 24, is a Railway Signalman who has been employed Port Talbot Railway & Dock Co.  Jeannie, 31.  They only have one child, Ronald who is just a year old.

1939 Register

By the time of the 1939 Register, Percival and Jeanie are living at 11 Fothergill Road, Neath.
