Commonwealth War Grave Commission - Appeal for Relatives - FREDERICK WILLIAM DAVIES
The Commonwealth War Grave Commission last Appeal for Relatives, of 2024. One of those names on the list is FREDERICK WILLIAM DAVIES, who is buried at Oystermouth Cemetery.
Frederick was born in 1889, in Oystermouth, son of Robert
Davies and Mary Eliza Collier.
At the time of the 1891 Census, the Davies family were residing
at John Street, Oystermouth.
Robert, 36, was a Dock Labourer. Mary Eliza, 33.

Their children were Robert Jonathan, 9; Annie B., 7; Sarah
Jane B., 5; Edith Laura, 3, Frederick W., and E. Ruth were both 1 year old.
The 1901 Census, the Davies family were recording as living
at 5 John Street.

Robert, 46, is still employed as a dock labourer. Mary E.,
43, is a dressmaker.
Their children are Edith, L. 15; Willie [Frederick], 12;
Ruth, 11; Eva, 10; Minne, 9 and 7-year-old Arthur.
The other children, who are not recorded on this census are
Robert John, who enlisted the army during 1899 serving with
the R. W. Busiliers, after eventually became a Royal Hospital Chelsea
Pensioner. 1920,
Annie B[ydder] married in 1909, Benjamin Alfred Llewellyn.
Sadly, Frederick William wasn’t recorded on the 1911 census.
His army attestation papers, were destroyed in the Second
World War London bombing.
Frederick served with the 9th Battalion, Welsh
Regiment.
