25^th April 1940, Fusilier Daniel Jones who served with Royal Welch Fusiliers, 9^th Battalion, died, aged 18.

Daniel was the son of Frank and Margaret Jones, of Port Tennant.

The 1939 Register records that Frank and Margaret were living at 10 Lambets Cottages.  Frank’s occupation is Dock Worker GWR Heavy Worker.

With Daniel’s young age, there are no official records, expect the South Wales Evening Post, which reports Daniel’s death at a R.A.F. station, Hampshire and funeral at Danygraig Cemetery.
