Also present at the house is Nora L. Hobkirk, aged 28, who is Aileen’s sister.  Her occupation is also recorded as Living on Own Means, and her place of birth is also India, Bombay.

Employed at the property are three servants.  Sarah Hawse, aged 74, who is recorded as her place of birth as Bicester, Oxfordshire and Emma Hawse, aged 21, and Rose Leffington, aged 16, both of whom are recorded as being born at St. Mary, Monmouthshire

George, who at the time of the 1901 census, was on active service in South Africa.  George had enlisted in March 1900, City of London, serving with the Paget Horse Imperial Yeomanry.

Charles Douglas Willoughby Rooke enlisted and served during the First World War with the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles), 1st Battalion and was ranked Lieutenant.
