The Commonwealth War Grave Commission likely compiled their records in the early 1920s, exemplified by the third military burial at Oystermouth Cemetery.

Captain Edward Talfourd Strick of the Welsh Regiment, 2nd/6th Battalion, died on June 19th, 1915, at age 32. He was the son of Thomas Noon Talfourd Strick and Mary Augusta Strick, and husband of Violet Caroline Strick (nee Bishop), of "Penard," Tekels Avenue, Camberley, Surrey.

Edward was born in 1883 and was the son of Thomas Noon Talfourd Strick and Mary Augusta Bishop.  They were married on in 1875 at the parish church, Myddfai, Carmarthenshire.

Fifteen years later, the Strick family resided in Llanfair, West Cross, according to the 1891 Census.

Thomas, 39, who was a Solicitor, and Mary who was 43 years old.  Mary’s place of birth is recorded as Morthvey, Carmarthenshire.  Their children were

Gladys R. E., aged 14; Eileen M., aged 12; Edward T., aged 8 and Courtenay T., aged 5.

The family employed three servants: Jane Bligdon, aged 40; Annie Short, aged 25; and Ernestine Ragot, aged 22.

Edward aged 16, in 1900 has completed the Law Examinations. Mary is absent from the 1901 Census.

The Strick family are still living at Llanfair.  Thomas, 49, is still a Solicitor and the children present at the property are

Gladys R. E., 24 years old, and Edward T., 18 years old, who is employed as a solicitor's clerk.

The family employed three servants: Maria Thomas, aged 34; Elizabeth R. Parsons, aged 24; and Elizabeth A. Spencer, aged 20 years.

According to the 1911 Census, Edward is recorded as the sole child residing at his parents' home in Llanfiar.

Thomas, aged 59, is still recorded as a solicitor, while Mary is 62 years old.

Edward, aged 28, is also recorded as a solicitor.

The family employed three servants: Elizabeth Thomas, aged 46; Annie Price, aged 27, and Annie Berry, aged 26.

The following year, 1912, Edward married at Weston All Saints, Bath, Violet Caroline Bishop.  Violet was the daughter of Edward.

According to the 1911 Census, the Bishop family resided at Pen Y Rock, Ronlyn Road, New Bridge Hill, Weston, Bath.

Edward, aged 70, is a retired Commander Royal India Marine, Isabella Jane Eleanor is 56 years old.  Her place of birth is recorded as Bombay, India.

Edward passed away at his parents' home in Llanfair after an operation in June 1915. His funeral was reported in the Western Mail.

According to the 1921 Census, Violet was residing at Glen Maris, St Marys Rd, Frimley, Surrey with her two daughters: Violet H., aged 9, and Rosanna Mary S., aged 5.

By the 1939 Register, the family had moved to Hyde Farm Cottage, L.w.c. Long Sutton.
