Private William Henry Supple, who served with the Welsh Regiment, 4th Battalion, passed away on 25th May 1917 in Pembrokeshire at the age of 20.

No articles were published in newspapers concerning his death or funeral at Oystermouth Cemetery.

William Henry Supple was born in 1897, in Sketty.  William was the son of Irish born Robert Supple and Mary Ellen Whitlow, who was born in Cheshire.  They were married in Cheshire in 1891, at Saint John the Baptist church.

The 1901 Census records indicate that the Supple family resided at 16 John Street.

Robert, aged 43, is employed as a gardener, and Mary E., aged 39.  Their children are

Sidney H., aged 7; Frances E., aged 5; William G., aged 4, and Robert G., aged 2.

A decade later, according to the 1911 Census, the family was still residing at 16 John Street.

Robert, aged 53, continues to be employed as a domestic gardener, while Mary Ellen is 49 years old.  Their children are

Sidney, 17 years old, is employed as a house painter. Frances E., 15 years old, and William H., 14 years old, attend school; William also participates in a newspaper round during the evenings. Robert G., 12 years old, attends school and undertakes a milk round in the evenings. Edgar J., 9 years old, attends school. Albert E. is 3 years old, and Kathleen M. is 3 months old.
