survive. He trained and practised as a barrister-at-law, indicating a
strong academic and professional background. David married Marie Rees,
whose address was recorded as Oakfield, Oakley Street, Shrewsbury.
Military Service
David was commissioned as a Lieutenant with the Durham
Light Infantry, serving with the 11th (Service) Battalion.
Like many service battalions, the 11th Durham Light Infantry was formed for
wartime service and saw active operations during the First World War.
Death and Burial
David John Rees died on 7th July 1919,
several months after the end of the war. He is buried at Putney Vale
