On October 30th, 1916, the British steel barque
TRIDONIA, on voyage from Dublin to Buenos Aires in ballast, was wrecked on
Oxwich Point. TRIDONIA dragged her anchors, hit the rocks and sank in deeper
water. 3 crew were lost. Swansea,
31 October: A message from the agent of the barque TRIDONIA, of Porteynon,
received at 3.30 states that all the crew were landed except the master,
chief officer, and one able seaman, who have been lost. Fully expect ship
will go to pieces shortly. [Liverpool Daily Post 2.11.1916] |
