George Bowden
6th of February 1917, HMT Longset was sunk by a mine from the German submarine UC-46, 2 miles southeast of the Breaksea lightvessel wreck. 8 persons were lost.

George, who was born in 1871, Cornwall. Was the son of
George Bowden and Jane May.
The 1871 Census, George who only a month old. The family were living at 63 Carland, St. Erme,

Frederick, 8; James H., 7; Eldsea, 5, who all attended
school. John, 1, and 1-month old George.
A decade later, at the time of the 1881 Census, George now
aged 10 was living at 2 Mitchell, St. Erme, Cornwall.
