Private T. Lewis, who served with the Welsh Regiment, 3rd Battalion, died on the 27th of October 1914, aged 38 years, and is buried at Danygraig Cemetery.

Thomas Lewis married Kate Morgans in 1897.

The 1901 Census records that Thomas Lewis was living at 10 Watkins Street. Thomas, 25, was a stone mason; Kate was 24 years old. Their two children were Kate, 3, and 1-year-old John.

A decade later, at the time of the 1911 Census, the Lewis family had moved to 72 Byron Crescent. Thomas, 35, was still a stone mason. Kate was also 35 years old.

Their children were Kate, 13; John, 11; Thomas, 9; Mary E., 7; Caroline, 5; and 7-month-old Hannah.

Thomas, who enlisted with the Welsh Regiment, sadly died at King Edward VII Hospital, Cardiff.  At the time of his death, Thomas' home address, was 15 Dyfed Avenue, Townhill
