Nestor John Morgan

 Corrymore Mansions, Sketty was suffered during the three nights blitz, 1941.  One of the A.R.P. Rescuers who lost his life was Nestor John Morgan, who lost his life on the 19th.

Nestor was born in 1887, was the son of John Morgan and Mary Davies, who were married in 1882.

At the time of the 1891 Census, Nestor, was residing with his grandparents’ home, 8 Marsden Street.

Nestor Davies, 54, was a Warehouse Man.  Nestor was born in Narbeth.  Ann was 60 years old, who was also born in Narbeth.  Their children were

William Davies, 28, who was employed at the Copper Works, who was born in Narbeth.  Maggie, 22, was a Florists Assistant, who was born in Swansea.  Daughter, Annie, 18, was born in born in Aberdare.

Their grandson, Nestor Morgan, 4, who attended school was born in Swansea.

The 1901 Census, Nestor Morgan, was still living with his grandmother, Anne at 7 Short Street.

Anne Davies, 70, who is widowed.  Son William, 37, is employed as a Copper Smelter Worker.  Daughter Margaret, 32 years old.

Grandson Nestor Morgan, 14, is employed as Butcher Porter Boy.

In 1908, Nestor married Mary Davies at St. Pauls church, Landore.

The 1911 Census, the couple were living at 90 Freemans Row, Kilvey.

Nestor, 24, who is employed as a Fruit Salesman.  Mary is 20 years old.  Their two children are Ceturah, 2, and 10-month-old Winifred.

During the First World War, Nestor, enlisted with the Machine Gun Corps, in 1915, and was awarded the Silver War Badge in 1920.

Nestor at the time of the 1921 Census, owned his Fruit Business.  The family were living at 90 Kilvey Road.

Nestor, who was 34 years old.  Mary who was 30 years old was an Assistant in the business.  Their two children were Winifred 11 and 7-years old William Edgar.

By the time of the 1939 Register, Nestor and Mary were living at 7 Kilvey Terrace, their daughter Winifred also lived with them

Nestor’s occupation is recorded Owing to War Disability Am Seeking Work on Own Account as Handman.
