David Trevor Evans was born in 1916, in Swansea, the son of Trevor Evans and Agnes Evans.

1921 Census

By the 1921 Census, the Evans family were living at Penlan, Pintrepoth Road, Morriston. Trevor, aged 41, was working as an auctioneer on his own account, while his wife Agnes, also 41, managed the home. Their children—Leila Margaret (10), Elewan Anne (7), and David Trevor (7)—were all recorded as attending school. Also present in the household were Agnes’s father, William Evans (77), and her sister, Mary Ellen Evans (30), creating a multi‑generational family home.

Military Service

During the Second World War, David Trevor Evans served as a Private in the Welch Regiment, 2/5th Battalion, one of the battalions raised from communities across Swansea and Morriston.

Illness, Death, and Burial

His death was reported in the South Wales Daily Post, which recorded that David had contracted an illness while on home service. He died on 15 February 1940, still in the early months of the war.
