Lawrence George Ahearne

 We can truly not understand how people act or feel at a time of war.

Bombardier Lawrence George Ahearne, who served with the Royal Artillery died on 27th of July 1941.

Lawrence was 5 months old at the time of the 1921 Census, the son of Lawrene Ahearne and Lilian Annie Jones, who were married in April 1920.  The family were living at 35 Port Tennant Road.

Lawrence, 27 was as Labourer General Fuel, employed by Phoenix Patient Co. Ltd, Swansea, however, was out of work.  Lillian was 19 years and undertook the household duties.

Also undertaking household duties was Annie Jones, 49-year-old widowed mother of Lillian and sister, Winifred Elizabeth Jones, 16, who was a General Servant, also out of work.
