 Sidney George Beynon

Sidney was born in 1880, the son of Thomas George Beynon and Ellen Morgans. 

In the 1881 Census, the family was living at 14 Slone Street.

1881 Census

Thomas, 35, who was born in Haverfordwest.  His occupation was a Tailor, Ellen, was 34 years old, and her place of birth was also Haverfordwest.  Their children were

Thomas G., 14; Rachel, 15; William H., 9; Florence J., 7; Anne, 5; Sarah, 4 and 1-year-old Sidney.

In the 1891 Census, the family was still living at 14 Slone Street.

Thomas, 45, was still employed as a Tailor, and Ellen was 44 years.  Sidney was the eldest child that was living at home

Sidney, 9; Ellen, 7; Frederick, 5, and 3-year-old Alice.  All the children attended school.

1901 Census, Sidney was aged 19 and was the eldest child still living at home at 14 Slone Street.

Thomas, 55 was still employed as a Tailor, and Ellen was 54 years old.

Sidney was employed as a Wood Box Maker, the same occupation as his younger brother Frederick, 15.

1911 Census, Sidney who was recorded as George was living as a lodger at 3 Pier Street, the home of Richard and Ellen Byrne.

George’s occupation currently as a Fuel Worker.

1917 at St. Matthews church, Sidney married Gladys Mary Bainbridge.

By the time of the 1921 Census, the couple and their children were living at 37 Villiers Street.

1921 Census

Sidney was 40 years old, and he was employed as a Fuel Worker Belt Man at Graigola Merthyr Co. Patent Fuel Manufacturer, Kings Docks.

Gladys was 27 years old, and their two sons were Frederick E., 3, and 1-year-old Sidney G.

The 1939 Register registered that the family was still living at 37 Villers Street.  Sidney is buried at Cwmgelly Cemetery
