 Clifford Beaumont Harris was a Freemason.  His membership started at the Indefatigable Lodge, St. Helens Road, on the 12th of November 1917.  He was issued his certificate on the 2nd of August 1918.

Clifford’s occupation is recorded as 2nd Lieutenant, Welsh Regiment.

Born in 1889, Clifford was the son of John Thomas Harris and Sarah Ann Thomas, who were married in 1887 at Carmarthen.

The 1891 Census records that the Harris family was living at 26 Russell Street.

John, 28, was a Ships Builder and Marine Engine Builder.  Sarah, who was also 28 years old.

Clifford, 2, was their only child.

Also present was 17-year-old Elizabeth Thomas, who was a General Servant.

A decade later, at the time of the 1901 census, the family had moved to 23 Montpellier Terrace.

John and Elizabeth are both 38 years old. John’s occupation is recorded as a Dry Dock Manager.  Their children are

Clifford, 12; Hubert W., 8, and 2-year-old Kathleen W.

Also present is 24-year-old General Servant Ethel M. Ress.

The family moved again by the time of the 1911 Census, to 1 Osborne Terrace, Bryn Road.

John and Elizabeth are both 48 years old. John’s occupation is recorded as a Dry Dock Manager.  Their children are

Clifford, 22, who is an Agency Inspector; Hubert, 18, who is an Apprentice Engineer; and Kathleen, 12, who attends school.

18-year-old Gladys Osman is the family's General Servant.

Clifford served with the Welsh Regiment, 6th Battalion. He was also attached to the Machine Gun Corps (Infantry) during the First World War, and he was ranked Lieutenant.

3rd of March 1919, Clifford died from pneumonia, his death being reported in the Herald of Wales.  He is buried at Danygraig Cemetery.
