Malcolm Neil McIndeor

 

Malcolm Neil McIndeor was a patient at Parc Wern Hospital.

Parc Wern hospital was made available by Dulcie Vivian, when it was run by the Red Cross.

Malcolm had been injured at Arras on the 28th of March 1918, however, Malcolm died at Bedford House Officers’ Hospital, Cardiff, on the 26th of October 1919.

Malcolm Neil McIndeor was born in 1898, the son of Scottish-born Neil McIndeor and Edith Bennett, who were married in 1897.

At the time of the 1901 Census, the McIndeor family was living at 41 Carlton Terrace.

Neil, 27, had his own Credit Draper business.  Edith was 30 years old.  Their two sons were

Malcom, 3, and 2-year-old Charles J.

Also present was a boarder, Henry Chappell, 25, who also had his own Credit Draper business

Alice Jones, 20, was employed as a servant.

A decade later, at the time of the 1911 Census, the family had moved to 17 Northampton Place.

Neil, 37, his own Credit Draper business. Edith was 40 years old.  Their three children were

Malcolm, 13; Charles James, 12, who both attended school, and 2-year-old Edith Mariel.

21-year-old Charlotte Helen Thomas was employed as a servant.

Malcolm, during the First World War, enlisted and served with the London Regiment (London Scottish), 14th Battalion, attached to the Cameron Highlanders, 7th Battalion.  Malcolm was ranked Lieutenant.

Following his death, at Cardiff, Malcolm was buried at Danygraig Cemetery.
