William Henry Gowland
In May 1899, Thomas Henry Gowland married Elizabeth Ellen Blewett at St. John-juxta-Swansea church. The following year, their eldest child, William Henry Gowland, was born.

Works. Elizabeth was 23 years old.
At the time of the census, William Henry was 10 months old.
A decade later, the family was living at 21 Bowen Street, at
the time of the 1911 census.

34-year-old Thomas is now an Inspector. Elizabeth is 33 years old. Their four
children are
William Henry, 10; Cyril Young, 5; Kenneth L., 3; and 1-year-old
Louisa Maud.

William lived at 8 Morgan Street when he enlisted with the Royal
Welsh Fusiliers in July 1918, and he would serve with them until his death on 17th
February 1919.

William died at a military hospital, Ipswich. His death was published in the South Wales Daily Post. William was buried at Danygraig Cemetery.
