Theodore James Nehemiah
 Theodore James Nehemiah died on the 29th of September 1918 at the Y.M.C.A. Hospital, Swansea. Theodore was 23 years old.

 Theodore was born in 1895 and was the eldest son of George Nehemiah and Eleanor Ann Bevan, who were married in 1894.

George and Annie Nehemiah are recorded at the time of the 1901 Census as living at 56 Baptist Wells Street.

George, who is 24, is a General Labourer, and Annie is 28 years old. Their children are

Theodore J., 6; William G., 4; Arthur J., 2, and 1-year-old Brynley R.

George, at the time of the 1911 census, was absent; however, on the 23rd of March 1911, he embarked from Liverpool on board the White Star Line ship Southwark. Arriving at Halifax, Canada, on the 3rd April.


Annie and the children are still living at 56 Baptist Well Street at the time of the 1911 Census.

Annie is 39 years old. 

Theodore, 16; William, 15, they are employed at the Copper Works as a Labourers;  Brinely, 11, who attends school.  Arthur John, 5, and 2-year-old Frederick Charles.

Theodore enlisted in 1915 and served with the Army Service Corps, ranked as a Driver.

Theodore saw action in France, where he contracted a disease, and he was invalided from the army.

Theodore’s death was reported in the South Wales Daily Post on the 1st October.  His funeral at Danygraig Cemetery was published on the 5th October.
